Hiii! You may have noticed in the Schleich videos that the girls use sponges to groom the horses and ponies, except in real life a sponge is absolutely useless against mud, grass stains and dust. I’m saving up for my own real-life horse, so I don’t want to buy any Schleich grooming sets, so I made my own from fimo clay! Firstly the girls need dandy brushes to make the ponies’ coats sPArklE, so I made some of those. The way I did it was by rolling a ball and smushing it flat a little bit, so it’s still quite thick. Then I used a needle and drew lines halfway up the sides of the brush to look like the bristles, and jabbed little holes in the bottom to imitate the bottom of the bristles. Then I made a thin flat top strap, repeated the process three times and voila! A dandy brush for each rider! Then I realised the horses’ hooves must be getting pretty gNArly if they never get picked out, so I made some hoofpicks too! These are my favourite things I’ve made this month by far! To make them, I rolled the fimo into a noodle in my colour choice, and sliced it at the right length. Then I made a little square cube of black clay and drew bristles on it like the dandy brushes. Then I used a bit of thick wire and shaped it to the pick, stuffed the extra length down the middle of the fimo noodle, and it’s done! Each girl also has a hoofpick for their grooming box. With 20+ horses at Willowstream Stables, there’s bound to be a lot of dung in the stalls and paddocks, so I made some more stud piles too. Changing the subject away from miniatures, I also made a little eggplant with a wire hook and drew a smiley face on it. Then I tied it to some elastic, threaded some beads onto it and tied it to my phone and it looks really cute! I like looking at it when I’m making the Schleich vlogs 😊I also made my mum a matching eggplant, which she clipped onto a safety pin and used it for stitch-counting on her knitting!
My bigger project that I made yesterday is a hayloft! My brother cut it out with the scrollsaw and I primed and painted it white to match the barn. While it was drying, we made a few more bales of hay from wooden blocks, PVA glue and lawn mower clippings. I also tied some string around them for extra security so the bales wouldn’t fall apart before they were really really dry. And plus, it helps the riders lift the bales to and from. Daniel also made a Lego quad bike and Polaris jeep for Willowstream Stables, making Hay Day a lot easier! Now they can just ride the Polaris to the Hay Barn (their supplier), chuck the hay on, drive it back, back it into the stable and lift it up the ladder to the loft! Done.
On an entirely different note, our bathroom toilet paper holder has a lego board on it that we cut and glued on a while ago. Every month or so Daniel, Mum or I make a new diorama for it, and it was my turn yesterday. If you know the cartoon Snoopy, this will be awesome! I made a red and white doghouse with a bone on the front, and plopped it off to the side. Then I sprinkled lego flowers and stems on the green grass, and spent an hour + sculpting a 2-D lego SNOOPY!!!!!!! It was soo hard to make and get right, especially from memory, but I think I aced it for a lego creation! I also made him his iconic typewriter, and set him up on his doghouse roof. And OF COURSE we couldn’t forget his sidekick, the adorable Woodstock, so I did my best to make him too. Woodstock was really hard to make, and he’s not really the right size compared to Snoopy, but he’s there and that’s what counts 😊
So yeah, I’ve been making a lot of stuff lately, and I’m really happy with all of it! Byeee!

I LOVE the Snoopy diorama so much 🥰 I’m seriously impressed you modelled the characters from memory. That’s NPU x1000 !!! 🤩

Thank you! 🤩

I always liked Snoopy on his dog-house, which was always 2D. So this is the first time I’ve seen it in 3D and I love it. Woodstock wont mind being a wee bit bigger.

Hes lovely, but he is a stallion so he is certain to be crazy sometimes no matter how kind he is in between. Hes also at the top of the north island!
