Come Ride Maz With Me!
Yesterday I rode Maz for the first time. I tacked him up and got on, and he’s much slower than Zion, but in a good way. Sophie said i do have to use a whip with him, so luckily I got my own blue one!!! Anyway, it took a while for me to figure out how to get him to trot. With Zion, you just have to squeeze his sides and he’ll go, but with Maz you have to kick rather hard and urge him with your seat, so pushing forward with your bum, and then he trots. I did have to tap his bum for him to gather himself up, but mostly I just got the hang of being on him. Then we cantered. Eeeee!!! He’s so amazing, and his canter feels like a rocking horse. To get him to canter, you just need to push your outside leg back, squeeze and growl, canter, and then he goes! It’s soo fun and I had such an amazing ride! Hopefully I can keep riding him! Mum took a lot of photos and videos for you all to watch and see, and the photo of me collecting him is on my home screen of my computer! I love his attention-seeking personality, and I felt really safe on him. We didn’t do much flatwork and poles, but more I just got the feel of riding him and how he works, really. It was so fun and I can’t wait to go see him again!
