I made a sewing shop!
I decided yesterday it was time for Sylvania North to have their first shop. Not a grocery shop. Not a cafe. Nothing of any importance that a village would even need urgently. A sewing shop. Previously I’ve made sewing shops in other Sylvanian buildings, but they never had the right vibe and I couldn’t properly decorate it. Sooo….I made a shop! I just got a box from the Four Square next to our house and cut a door, four windows and a sunroof out. The sunroof is there to let light in so it doesn’t become dark and gloomy at the back. Then I used the clear plastic on the front of the box I got with the Chocolate Rabbits to make windows and covered the box in white paper. I made a sign (Sylvanian Stitching), and my pop gave me some old curtain fabric for a floor rug. I love the carpet detail and it totally matches the sewing-shop vibe! Then I used some cardboard and cut it into rectangles, before wrapping a long strip of fabric around it like the fabric selections at Stitching Stuff in Te Awamutu, Spotlight ect.! I love the look, and one side of the shop is full of a variety of different fabrics. There’s a flowery section but also a plaid and brown-toned section; all fabrics my Aunty Maaike gave me for Christmas with the wood fabric I used for the treehouse tent. I wrapped some thread around a little strip of cardboard and put it on a table at the back, alongside a bowl of beads. I made a dress stand with a pretty green frock on it, and used a Sylvanian shower curtain rod as a fabric display. I made a cardboard box and put some felt scraps in it, and neatly folded squares beneath the table at the back. There’s a green cutting mat, and I’m going to get a Lego cash register for the table too. The lady who runs the quaint and peaceful sewing shop is none other than lovely Miss Verinder! The cool thing about the sewing shop is it can slot right behind the Alfonso’s house, and I can make more and more shops to stack under neath or on top of it, so it won’t take up any more space!!! I’ve already got some shops in mind for this mega-village department store. There’s going to be: a Grocery shop, a cafe and a book shop, and I’m sure over time it will gather many more levels! Anyway, do you like the Sylvanian Stitching? Highly recommend buying your fabrics from them; top quality might I add! Lady Stella is absolutely furious her cousin with no style opened a tacky sewing shop in the village before she, the mighty Lady Stella, could open her own French Vogue modelling buisness. She is terribly furious and scribbling up another nasty poem directed at Miss Verinder…stay tuned! The cousin drama is just beginning…π heh heh
Other Notes:
Would you like to have posts written by my Sylvanians updating you on their village themselves?
I haven’t announced Mrs. Verinder, Mr. Chestnut, Wisteria and Beetle’s last name, which is AppleTree!

But the village has urgently needed this very important little shop! The world needs more interesting shops β€οΈ not to sound like a total consumer but real shops are rately interesting – so it is so nice to make up something. π

Im following you and Daniel. Yana is doing duch not danish! We just realised they are different duch is more similar to English and German and danish is similar to Norwegian Swedish and German! Im going to start a danish course
Stella
Yeah I know she’s doing Dutch; I’m doing Danish. But I am half dutch myself. The European languages are quite similar to eachother, and English has lots of words in common with those languages because English is a mashup of other languages. Thanks for following Daniel π I’m doing a Swedish course as well, and I don’t think I’ll keep doing German though.
