I made a treehouse!
Sorry to dissapoint you all, but it isn’t for me! My bedroom is rather small, and with a love of miniatures that happen to take up a ridiculous amount of space, I do have to improvise. My Sylvanian houses are all smushed up together to conserve space, and then when I was scrolling through Sylvanian listings on Trademe (My fav place to get them 🙂 I saw a treehouse! It was pretty expensive, so, using the crafty skills I have, I made a plan in my mind on how I could make one for myself; realistic, accessible, space-conserving and homey. And I accomplished it! I made a video tutorial (my first ever!) that I’ve embedded here, but also linked on my How To’s Page on the menu. I don’t currently have a family for it, but I do have my eye on a particularly fuzzy family that migghttt be a Hedgehog family…😉If I don’t end up getting these hedgehogs, I might turn it into a book club meetplace or something for all of the Sylvanians. Back to the treehouse! I think it looks soooo cool! I love all the skirting and boards and the hammock between the branches. I found the piece of wood I used from an old Manuka or Tea Tree we cut down, and it was perfect! My original idea was to make a hollow trunk from cardboard and use toilet paper rolls to make the branches, and I could make little windows in them for the babies to crawl in, but then I realised A; it would be far too frail, and B; I have no idea how to make foliage. So a piece of wood split like a slingshot where I could pop two cabins on would work MUCH better. The cabins didn’t take long at all to make, and one is a sleeping space and the other a cosy kitchen. In the video the grass looks gray, but it isn’t, it’s hunter green, and made of fuzzy felt. I hope you like watching it and I hope it inspires you to make your own life size or miniature treehouse!
(BTW, I don’t have my USB video on me at the moment, so the video tutorial isn’t availible right now. I hope to get it up here ASAP within the next week or so 😉)

Hi Tess! No I haven’t read the High Hurdles series; I’m pretty selective when it comes to books! Showtym Adventures, Showtym Viking and the Moonstone are my top reads at the moment! Hope the treehouse works!

That’s a very nifty treehouse 😊 and so is the new blog. It’s more searchable (I can find it on the computer, whereas I can only find the Weebley one on my phone).

Thank you! I love the design of this one; much more acessible and if I post two posts a day you can see both, not just one at the top on weebly.
